DISCLAIMER

**Important** Read before purchase/use

Douma Bike Rack Carrier Systems have been designed to be mounted directly to a 50mm square tow hitch on the rear of a vehicle that is not being towed, such as a car or 4WD (intended use).

Mounting the rack to any vehicle that is being towed, including but not limited to caravans, campers and trailers or a motorhome or by using an adaptor to connect to a 50mm x 50mm tow hitch is not recommended unless fabrication works are completed by a qualified fabricator.

Douma Carrier Systems recommends that if your bicycle crank is less than 30mm in width at the contact point of the crank holder, the security lock MUST be used.

Additionally, using the rack in a way that is not consistent with the intended use is done strictly at your own risk and Douma Carrier Systems will not be liable for any claims or damages whatsoever resulting from any use that differs from the intended use.

Douma Carrier Systems assumes no responsibility for the suitability of your vehicle to accommodate a rack.  To the extent permitted by law, Douma Carrier Systems  does not accept any liability for any loss or damage suffered by relying on any information provided by Douma Carrier Systems whether caused by the negligence of Douma Carrier Systems or otherwise.  Any reliance you place on such information is therefore strictly at your own risk.

Douma Carrier Systems recommends that you make enquiries with your vehicle manufacturer to determine the suitability of your vehicle to accommodate the rack products. The total weight of the of the rack and load must not exceed 50% of the tow ball down load rating for your vehicle’s tow hitch.

Regardless of your vehicle’s tow hitch download rating, the maximum carrying capacity of the Adventure Rack is 60kg (with each bike weighing a maximum of 30kg), Adventure Rack Extension is 40kg (with each bike weighing a maximum of 30kg) thus totaling 100kg and the Touring Rack is 60kg.

Dirt roads can reduce load ratings. Douma Carrier Systems recommends that you reduce the payload if you’re planning to travel on rough terrain.

Additionally, Douma Carrier Systems recommends that you position your rack as close to the vehicle as possible to avoid creating extra stress on your vehicle’s chassis.

Douma Carrier Systems also suggest you comply with the state regulations for vehicle bicycle carriers such as overhang restrictions, number plate and lighting display.
